Walt and Karen Troup, Nigeria, Africa
A Place of Hope - an orphanage in Africa
Pastor Walt & Karen Troup arrived at A Place of Hope Africa in November 2014, following God's calling on their lives to take the gospel to the nations. Every day, they care for the children by giving them a safe place to stay, nourishing meals, an education at a private school, and most importantly, the children see and hear about the love of Jesus Christ. The Troups also oversee two church plants including Glorious God Baptist Church in Opi, and Cornerstone Church in Opi which Walt pastors and was planted in 2016. Prior to arriving on the mission field, Pastor Walt served as an Executive Pastor in Texas and Karen led mission teams around the world to places like El Salvador, Guatemala, and India.

Sean Sullivan - Ukraine
Mission 823 Helping Ukrainians
Ukraine has been defending itself from attacks for over 8 years, but now this has grown to a whole new level and there is a nationwide assault on civilians and residential neighborhoods. Millions of innocent people are running for their lives!
We are actively helping in the following ways:
Locating and rescuing those in conflict areas.
Providing safe transport of evacuees and refugees away from conflict zones to our facilities in the west or to the border.
Providing housing and shelter for those displaced from their homes.
Providing food, clean water, medical care and humanitarian aid for those in need and their affected communities.
Providing water filters to areas that no longer have clean or safe water.
Purchasing supplies for and working in partnership with other agencies helping with evacuations and medical aid.
Providing long term relief and rebuilding efforts.
Organizing and planning for future trips to provide medical aid, humanitarian aid and disaster clean-up and rebuilding.
Why Are There At Risk Youth In Ukraine?
Every year an estimated 15,000 children will age out of the orphanage system and be evicted from orphanages all over Ukraine. Almost 30,000 enter this system annually.
60% of the girls will enter into prostitution.
70% of the boys will turn to crime to survive.
10% of these children will commit suicide.
106,000 children currently live in more than 750 state institutions.
Another 800,000+ children are refugees from the war zone.
All of these children are at high-risk and with limited opportunities, they become targets of human trafficking.

Michelle is a nurse practitioner and worked in a family practice clinic until April 2018 when she quit to pursue their missions calling. Michelle has felt a calling to do missions for many years, especially after her first mission trip to the Philippines in 2013. In addition to teaching, Marty is a licensed plumber, but is primarily a construction and farm equipment mechanic. God has also gifted him with the talent to weld, to do carpentry and some electrical. Michelle has the talent for carpentry, sewing, crafts and Medical clinics. Mike and Christie Starling - Mexico
Mike and Christie are missionaries to Mexico in 1993. During their years of ministry in Mexico they formed MissionQuest that was used to challenge young people to serve the Lord. In 2007 they felt the Lord was leading them to work with MissionQuest full time to take teams to foreign countries on short-term mission trips with the sole purpose to recruit people for missions. In 2011 they felt burdened to start a Spanish ministry in North Texas because of the high influx of Hispanics to the area. They will also continue with the MissionQuest ministry upon request. MissionQuest focuses on enlisting God's people to engage in missions work and empowers them to make a difference in the lives of people all over the world. They organize and lead short term missions trips and projects to put people face to face with foreign countries, cultures and missionaries. Only there can they understand the need, hear the calling and derive the passion to return home and fully engage in missions through their local churches or surrender to career missions.
